Some amount of stress symptoms are programmed into us as a way to protect us. Sometime stress is good for you, especially if someone cuts you off while driving you need to be able to react fast. On the other hand if you are experiencing stress too often for no real reason it isn’t good for you health. This article is about the common symptoms of stress.

When you have trouble getting your mind to shut off and stop running through the issues of the day it’s usually stress that causes this issue which is the leading cause of sleeplessness. Some people also suffer from a condition related to stress that causes them to wake often during the night often from a troubling dream or nightmare. Avoid drinking stimulants or eating heavy meals before bed as a way to treat your sleep disorders, studies have proven that heavy meals and stimulants are a cause for sleepless nights that are stress related. Don’t misunderstand me here, there are other issues that cause sleep disturbance but quite a few are because of stress. The most important thing you can do for your physical and mental health is get to the bottom of your sleep issues.

Others may turn to impulse buying as a means of releasing their stress. This can mean impulse buying, going on frequent shopping sprees or gambling. Retail therapy can make you feel better for a while but isn’t a solution. Unfortunately, this can have consequences that end up leading to more stress, such as debt or an inability to pay your bills. For this reason you must get a handle on your spending habits before they get out of control.

High blood pressure can be managed, and sometimes even prevented, by learning to eliminate stress. Controlling your blood pressure should be at the top of your list as to why it’s essential to keep stress at a minimum in your life.

The symptoms of stress are never pleasant. The more aware you are about what type of thoughts, reactions or situations in your life cause you stress, the more able you’ll be to make positive changes. Your quality of life can be improved just by finding ways to prevent stress.
