Guns and Felons

Posted By: wbhazel1 on November 17, 2011 at 11:29 am

This letter was written in The Opinion Page of The New York Times by Mr. JAMES PAVLE, The Executive Director of The Treatment Advocacy Center.

Mr. Pavle and a perusal of his organization appear to make a convincing case for expanded mental health identification and treatment being entirely consistent with increased public safety and good public policy.

Although I’m of the firm belief in the use of civil committment being as restrictive as possible and then only if by clear and convincing evidence that the committee is a current danger to him/herself or others and then regular reviews of that decision by different judges

I Thank you Mr. Pavle for your work.

William B. Hazel III,
ACSW, LCSW, LADC
